BOOBCAMP DAY 1 & GIVEAWAY [CLOSED]!!!

Hi All!

Today was the first day of BoobCamp!! It was amazing!

But before I get into telling you about my day and showing you what I made- I would like to announce a GIVEAWAY!

Beverly most generously donated a Pin-Up Girls 'Classic Bra' Pattern for me to giveaway to one of my readers!

This Giveaway is CLOSED to everyone and all you have to do to enter this GIVEAWAY is to:

leave a comment telling me what size of pattern you would like

 &

 a way to contact you!

I will enter you twice if you tell me a bit about your plans for the pattern!

The sizing for the pattern is:
Pink: 30-38 AAA-D
Yellow:30-38 E-H
Blue: 40-48 A-D
Purple:40-48 E-H
You can go to the Bra-Maker's Supply website to read more about the pattern!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED, CONGRATULATIONS LYNDLE!!

And now if you would like to see an example of what you can do with this pattern then you might want to take a look at what I made today!

(Could I get away with just wearing this and a pair of high waisted shorts? maybe?)

You see it all started when I walked into Bra-Makers this morning and saw the amazing selection of laces, and I just couldn't put this one down, I thought it had such a retro tropical feel <3

(how gorgeous is that!)

Then I got to work, deciding where I was going to place the lace- I decided to do some on the band:

And then I wanted to do what they call a 'butterfly' which is where you have a piece of lace at the center front of both cups, and the effect is kind of like the wings of a butterfly- it is fairly easy to draft your little piece of lace off your cup pieces

And Beverly has SO many different colours (24) of the duoplex and powernet to make the bras- I picked this lovely bright blue that went perfectly with my lace- and she has all these pre-made kits with colour coordinating elastics and findings! YAY no more white findings and elastic on everything!

The class was so fast paced! and everyone seems really friendly and focused! Mom did really well today too!

Here she was at the start of the day cutting out her pattern, after her first proper bra fitting ever!

And progress through the day! Mom went with something simple for her first bra.

Neither of us were able to complete our bras in one day but we both made it really far! only a couple small steps left to tomorrow.

Pretty impressive for moms first bra on her first day of bra-making!

I am SO thrilled with the progress I have made already- I can tell this is going to be an amazing week! I will finish up my bra tomorrow and take pictures of myself in it when it's all done- I feel like will have to make some really sheer tops to show off all my bras I make this week!

Don't forget to leave your comments for the Giveaway so I can share this bra-making even more!!

xo erin

  18. Okay so your bra is seriously gorgeous! It's almost a shame to cover it up.

I've been lusting after that pattern and a kit for months, and keep spending my budget before I remember that I want to make a bra. And as I sit here typing this, the underwire of my VS bra is poking me in the rib and the sternum... so I plan on definitely replacing this shitty bra and hopefully many of my other bras, in about as many bright colors as you can think of! Pink please!

I wear RTW 38/40 E, according to Bra makers I'm size 37 G. Since I'm trying to loose weight do I get for Band 36 or 38 and of course the pattern for cup size or band size???
And I'm planning on making one with lace, probably blue/turq w black lace.

  33. This is so amazing! I've recently decided that the typical bra sizing in the States is so wrong for me. I would choose yellow for sizing b/c instead of a 36DD like VS had me in, I'm more like a 32G. Since I've had to start from scratch on the bras I own, I would make something gorgeous instead of my practical nude bras. I would also try to modify the pattern to be a long line bra, if I could work it out. I think those are so sexy.

Were I to win this, I'm feeling very summery these days so I'd love to make a bra out of a novelty print with a summer theme with maybe a little bit of complementary lace around the ends.

  63. I found your blog via PR. I've been looking at bra reviews. I'm envious of the choice you have and of the boobcamp! I'd like to be entered into your giveaway. Size yellow, please. Like your Mum I'm likely to start with nice shades - hoping to get a better fit than I can usually achieve from RTW. I'm at sewanneuk.blogspot.co.uk Thanks for the giveaway.

  68. Hi! I just saw your post on We Sew Retro and these bras you and your Mom made are fantastic! If I didn't see the pictures of your process of sewing them I would swear they came from a store. Wow! I have never made a bra and I have very limited funds so maybe later on I can finally start sewing a bra. I have the idea of making a bullet bra. Mostly my health and "other obligations" have me at a stand still as far as my sewing anything. Maybe soon! Thank you for your being such an inspiration!
